Pakistan: An Urgent Need For Help

Christians in Pakistan need our help urgently. On Wednesday, August 16th, a large mob of burned at least 21 churches, over 500 Christian homes, and a large number of Bibles in Jaranwala. As of Thursday, the 24th, some started to return to the scene. They came home to still-burning remains of churches and discovered the little they had been taken or destroyed. “These mobs have ruined not only our lives but also looted everything… what bad have we done? Where is justice? O God, have mercy on us,” said Daud Masih, a Christian resident of Jaranwala. Our ministry leader in Pakistan writes, “All the Bibles inside the churches were thrown in a pile in the streets and were set on fire. The cross that was on top of the churches was destroyed, and the Christian houses were set on fire.”

This is the fourth incident of mobs having destroyed churches or Christian homes this summer. Attacks against Christians in Pakistan have been on the rise. Hundreds of families have been left homeless according to the ministry leader. The ministry is trying to supply these believers with food packages ($25), steel beds ($25), and cooking supplies ($35) as those are the bare essentials, but the amount of help needed is overwhelming. “Because the houses and the belongings are totally burnt, we cannot help everyone,” stated the leader. Would you please consider partnering with GCP to provide these much-needed items to our brothers and sisters? Visit globalcp.givingfuel.com/donate to help, or call us!

Please pray for the safety of the Christians inside Pakistan and for the victims of the recent attacks.
