Iran: A Testimony Inside a Prison

Our partnered ministry in Iran recently sent us a testimony of the lives that are being reached in Iran.

“About eight years ago in Iran, one of my colleagues was sentenced to 6 months in prison because he was sharing the Gospel with others. While in jail, he shared the Good News with an inmate who was convicted of murder. By the time my colleague finished his sentence, the prisoner had become a believer. When it came time for the man to be executed according to Iranian law, the victim's family astonishingly decided not to take revenge and execute him. Instead, it was ruled that he would pay a large fine to be released from prison. However, since he couldn’t pay, he stayed in jail all these years. So, he became a missionary inside the prison, taking care of believers who went to jail so they wouldn’t be alone. He also managed to get a Bible inside the prison so believers and unbelievers would have access to God’s Word. About a year ago, he prayed that God would release him from jail so he could further spread His Word. While he was praying for this, my colleague had already started raising the money needed for him to be free. We all were eventually able to raise the $1800 needed and he was released! It is amazing how the Lord is working!”

We praise God for this redemption and for the work he is doing in Iran!
