Himalayas: Landslides and Flooding

As if the health and economic ramifications of Covid-19 haven’t been enough of a burden to this region, this past July Nepal experienced extremely heavy rains that resulted in widespread flooding and landslides. As of July 29th, 141 people have lost their lives and 35,530 people have been displaced.

A ministry leader that partners with GCP sent us the following message, “Dear brother Axel & GCP family, warm greetings. Please pray continuously for the present situation that has brought great disaster. Most of the Himalayan region is badly affected with landslides and flooding. Our local teams members are requesting for a few hundred plastic tarps for temporary shelters as hundreds of households are in terrible condition.” GCP plans to continue providing food packages to this ministry and intends to send tarps for those affected by this rainfall as well. Please pray for the people of the Himalayas!
