Myanmar: Rescue Center

Because of the severe poverty in Myanmar and Thailand, many single mothers end up leaving the country to go find work (usually prostitution) elsewhere. Oftentimes, this involves women abandoning their children altogether or leaving them with relatives. Because the families of these women usually don’t have the means to take care of children, these kids end up being given away. As a result, many girls end up falling in the hands of sexual traffickers.

This sad reality is why GCP is helping build a rescue center that will take in these girls and introduce them to Jesus. Our leader in Myanmar recently shared with us: “The girls' rescue center is in the process of starting construction this upcoming week or the week after. We will build two stories as we had planned and 26 girls will be able to live there along with the caregiver's family. We will also have a small worship hall for ministry activities.”

Please pray for this important project and that God uses the rescue center to bring hundreds of orphaned Burmese girls to Christ.
