Nepal: Hindu Boy’s Testimony

Dipu is a 13-year-old boy from a Hindu family. One day, while Dipu was playing outside, he fell and seriously hurt his leg. When his mother saw what happened, she bandaged it as fast as she could and gave him some pain medication. However, after a week Dipu started developing a fever, difficulty walking, and would start crying from pain. His parents took him to the hospital; but after several tests, the doctors could not come up with a concrete diagnosis. When they asked the parents if Dipu had taken any medicine recently; his mother told him about the pain pill she had given him. When the doctor asked her to show him the wrapper, the tablet was found to have expired more than three years ago. The doctor eventually concluded that Dipu's leg would have to be amputated as the expired tablets had weakened the bones to the point that they could kill Dipu if not removed. During this time is when GCP-sponsored missionary Dhan Gurung met Dipu’s family. Brother Dhan was evangelizing door to door and asked the family if there was anything he could pray with them about. Although they were devoted Hindus, Dipu’s parents were so distraught that they asked Dhan to come in anyway. Brother Dhan prayed with family and in the following days visited several times, each time praying that Dipu would be healed.

On the day of the surgery the doctor asked Dipu to try to get up and walk to see how weak his legs were. What happened next left everyone in the room stunned. Dipu started running. Dipu’s parents and the doctor could not believe it. Dipu was completely healed! The family proceeded to tell brother Dhan everything that had happened and told him that they believe it was his God that healed Dipu. That very day, brother Dhan led this family to Christ. Since then, they have been attending Dhan’s church regularly and Dipu has been going to Sunday school. Praise God!

Please pray that more people will support more native missionaries so that they can reach more Hindus in Nepal.
