Ukraine: "Fruits of an Evangelist"

“When I got married in 1988, I was very young. I thought my husband loved me, but it didn’t take long for him to start regularly abusing me. I became very depressed, and I didn’t want to live anymore. One day I couldn’t handle my situation anymore. I decided I would kill myself because I believed no one in my family loved me. That morning, I told my husband that I didn’t want to live and that I would not be returning home anymore. I told him that I planned to commit suicide. My husband very coldly answered, “Do whatever you want to yourself”, I left our home and thought I would never return.

After walking for some time, I passed by a church building where they were holding a church service. I heard the voice of the preacher. This voice pulled me like a magnet toward the church. When I walked in and sat in the back on a chair, I heard the voice, saying, ‘If no one loves you, not your parents, nor your husband, I want to introduce you to someone who died for you and loves you very much. His name is Jesus Christ. All you need to do is make a decision to invite Him into your heart. I immediately began sobbing. I had never cried like that before. I didn’t wait until the preacher finished his message before I ran in front of all the people in the church and fell to my knees, repenting and asking the Lord to come into my heart. I returned home with joy and happiness. After some time, my transformation opened my husband up to the Gospel and he gave his life to Christ as well. Today I have a wonderful life with my husband and our daughter. I want to thank the preacher for that Gospel service, in which I responded to Jesus.”
