Pakistan: Unparalleled Floods
Over 1/3 of Pakistan is currently underwater. Over 33 million people are now affected by the catastrophic flooding that has continued to escalate since mid-June, making it one of the worst natural disasters in the last 60 years of the country’s history. Within the past two days, 119 people have died, and 71 have been critically injured. And with the death toll rising to 1500, many Pakistani families are in desperate need of immediate help. Since last week, our partnered ministry in Pakistan has already started providing for families affected by this disaster. They prepared ready-made food and drinking water for those in several areas around the country that haven’t received any emergency aid. This ministry reports that they require urgent supplies such as mosquito nets, plastic sheets, and drinking water to meet the demand of the Pakistani families that are desperate to keep their children and elderly relatives alive.
Please pray that the Lord will provide strength to Pakistan during this devastating time.
