Ukraine: A Bible Changed Everything

GCP was recently sent the following amazing testimony of Mykola from our partnered missionary in Ukraine:

“My name is Mykola, I am 42 years old and live in Chernihiv. The last two years were very difficult for me because my family was falling apart. I had just filed for divorce and my 14-year-old son had been diagnosed with depression. In April 2023, we visited my sister Valentina during Easter, and she immediately invited us to visit a missionary church. I decided to go out of curiosity because I was surprised that my sister was going to church. Although we were already in the divorce process, my wife and I decided to attend together because we were both curious.  At the church, the pastor came up to us and handed us a Bible. He explained that it would help our family succeed and find happiness. We didn’t believe him but decided to take the Bible anyway. When we returned home, I kept thinking about what the pastor had said about the Bible and decided to read it for myself. That one moment changed my life because, in just two short months, I had read the entire Bible! I realized very quickly after reading the word of God that I shouldn’t divorce my wife, so I put the process on hold. I began to behave differently, I was kind to everyone, and everyone around me saw that I had become a different person. During all this change, one night, I knelt and began to ask forgiveness to the Lord for how I lived my life. With tears flowing down my eyes, I understood that Jesus Christ forgave my sins and freed me! During that same prayer, I remembered that passage from Acts, “You and your whole household will be saved.” I immediately asked God to reveal himself to my wife and son. I started to incorporate reading the Bible together in the evenings and shared that I wanted to build our family in a new way. Soon after, my wife and son came to the Lord, and we went to court and canceled our divorce! The Bible has completely changed my life and my family.”

Please pray that the Lord will continue to provide Bibles to our missionaries so they can bless others like Mykola and his family with the gift of Jesus Christ!
