Ethiopia: An Overlooked Crisis

As other global and domestic issues continue to receive the majority of the attention in the news, it is important that we not overlook the situation in Tigray, Ethiopia. Since the start of the conflict in 2020, thousands have been killed, millions of people have been displaced from their homes, and famine and poverty have spread throughout the country. According to the United Nations, 9.4 million people across northern Ethiopia are in desperate need of help.

This is why GCP has consistently worked to raise funds to bring relief to those with the direst needs in the country. In the most recent update from our partner ministry in Ethiopia, they told us: “The poverty and hunger in Ethiopia has spread very widely in the country. Ethiopian citizens are hungry and tired. Thank you to GCP for the food bags and their missionary support!”
