India: Supporting a Hurting Sister
Mina Tandi Is on the left.
Mina Tandi is one of the key leaders in a GCP partnered ministry in India. She oversees 300 local pioneer women missionaries and shows great leadership potential in the mission fields. This ministry believes that she is a great missionary and servant of the Lord. However, Mina has endured hardships and tragedies that have left her alone and without any support. Mina was married when she was fifteen years old to an abusive husband. After two years, her husband left while she was five months pregnant. Mina gave birth to her daughter Manisha without any support from the baby’s father or Mina’s family. To support her daughter, she took a job making bricks before dedicating her life to serving the Lord. Later, Mina discovered Manisha was born with a condition called sickle cell anemia. So, when both Manisha and Mina were hospitalized after catching Covid-19 last year, Manisha’s weak immune system was not able to combat the virus. As a result, her health deteriorated quickly, and she passed away at only 22 years old.
Mina was absolutely shattered and in complete shock for months. While she grieved the death of her daughter, she broke her leg for the second time in a motorbike accident. For months, Mina suffered emotionally and physically. Our partner ministry completely supported her, by helping her with medical bills, rent, and groceries. But the death of Manisha has left Mina traumatized and alone. To help Mina transition into this new stage of life and provide closer mentorship for her, we are raising funds to build a small home close to some of the other leaders of the ministry. Having a home of her own would ease her pain of being alone by having other leaders close by. This small house would cost $8,000-10,000 to build.
Please pray for Mina and consider helping her during this difficult time.
