Ukraine: Firewood for Missionaries
In Ukraine, between 40-60% of all electric plants have been destroyed in recent months, leaving hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians to face this winter with no heat. Included are dozens of Ukrainian missionaries distributed throughout 60 mission stations, churches where missionary families are living and taking care of thousands of new believers and people in need of shelter and food. These places will also be without power during these upcoming winter months and are vulnerable to temperatures as low as 25 degrees Celsius below zero. The situation is becoming so difficult, the Ukrainian government just passed an emergency law authorizing people to cut any trees needed for heating purposes.
The leader of GCP’s partner ministry has informed us that they need urgent funds to provide the missionaries and displaced people in these mission stations with firewood to be able to make it through the winter. A truck load of firewood will only cost $300, and it will be enough wood to heat a missionary station for the whole winter. Any amount will be much appreciated.
Please pray that the Lord will grant strength to our missionaries and that the firewood will be a blessing during this vulnerable and uncertain time in Ukraine.
