Give a food bag + bible to unevangelized people in Africa for thanksgiving!

The physical need

Niger has always had difficulties with food security as its landlocked geography, soil degradation and limited access to arable land make it difficult to produce enough food for its growing population. Currently about 3.2 million people are acutely food insecure and 47% of children under 5 are chronically malnourished, according to world food programme. But with recent inflation hitting Niger, prices have risen by 37 percent to 53 percent for the staples of millet, sorghum, maize, imported rice and cowpeas. This has culminated in a severe food shortage with millions in urgent need of help.

The spiritual need

Niger is one of the most least reached countries in all of Africa, with 98.2% of its population considered unreached by the Gospel, according to Joshua Project. Its largest people, the Hausa, makes up roughly half of its population and is overwhelmingly Muslim. The vast majority of people in this people group don’t just live their lives without knowing the Gospel, they have no friends or families that are Christian, no bibles, and no churches nearby.

What we are doing!

Because of this urgent need for both food and the Good News, GCP has partnered with a local ministry working among the Hausa to spread the Gospel by giving them food bags as well as a Bible!

Prior to distributing these items, the ministry preaches the Gospel and explain that as Christians we are called to love God and love our neighbor, which is why they are providing food and Bibles for them. After the distribution, the ministry follows up by visiting these families regularly and offering a discipleship class for the new converts.

A gift of $35 allows us to give a family a food bag containing rice, macaroni, and oil as well as a bible in the local language!

Consider partnering with us in feeding and sharing the Gospel to those who need it most this Thanksgiving season!
