Sewing Machines: An Inspiring Tool

The UN reports that there are over 13 million single mothers and widows in India. The poverty rate for single parent households is almost doubled what it is for a dual parent household. Part of the problem stems from a lack of employment opportunity for our sisters in India, with many making as a little as $2 a day in abusive or exploitive positions. GCP and our partnered ministries is answering the call to help women in Pakistan and other countries that are facing these challenges. One of the many ways we offer help is through giving them sewing machines. These simple tools allow women to start independent businesses in their villages, creating a safe and stable income for their families. Additionally, with the gift of every sewing machine, comes the gift of Gospel for unbelievers. Each woman has the opportunity to hear about Jesus Christ from a GCP missionary, who prats for them and performs follow ups. With this evangelistic strategy, many women end up giving their lives to Christ and subsequently going back to their communities to share what the Lord has done for her! The impact of sewing machines goes beyond a simple gift, but breaks the cycle of poverty and is a symbol of a new life in Christ. Please prayerfully consider helping our sisters and others in India,  with this life changing tool.

Please pray that more Indian women will give their lives to the Lord through our sewing machine project.
