Chhattisgarh: "Helping Missionaries"

Kavita Sahu is a women’s leader for a ministry GCP that helps in the state of Chhattisgarh. She is very involved in outreach and is active in spreading the Gospel among the unreached. However, because of her faith and her service to the ministry, she has repeatedly received threats from her own family and community.

Recently while Kavita was trying to collect water in her local well, she was severely beaten by one of her neighbors. When the neighborhood heard about this, instead of seeking justice for Kavita, they banned her and her family from using the well. This meant she was completely cut off from her only source of water. Kavita suffered a head injury from this attack, but she hasn’t reported this to the local authorities due to fear of more retaliation. India has seen increased hostility toward believers in recent months evidenced by the increased attacks against Christians like Kavita.

However, GCP is committed to being a source of hope and relief for these diligent leaders. This is why GCP plans to come alongside her ministry to help provide her with any medical attention she may need as well a discrete well so that her and her family will have clean, accessible water. Please prayerfully consider joining us in helping our sister Kavita!
