Eritrea: The Miracles of the Mission Field

Eritrea is one of the poorest countries in the world, and its government continues to oppress its population with restrictions on religion and ongoing wars. Extreme poverty and violence plague the nation, with many families and women fearing sexual and domestic abuse. To escape, many Eritreans have found solace in a refugee camp in the bordering country of Ethiopia. This is where Henok, a GCP-sponsored missionary, works to bring the Gospel to those who are in desperate need of a Savior. Henok evangelizes in the camp by distributing Bibles, showing the Jesus film, and simply preaching the Word of God. One of the many refugees he reached was named Tirhas. For months, Tirhas had been struggling with severe health problems due to her recent diagnosis of breast cancer. Due to the lack of proper treatments within the camp, Tirhas was suffering immensely. One day, Tirhas decided to attend our Bible study. It was there that she knelt and prayed, “I kneel down to your God. If He is true, I ask Him to heal me. I will make your God my God. Will you pray for me?” After praying over her, Tirhas immediately felt a sudden change. The lump in her breast shrank, and everyone praised the Lord. Tirhas accepted Christ that very same day.

Tirhas is one of the hundreds that Henok and other missionaries supported by GCP are reaching in this camp. This ministry continues to pursue the unreached in these camps, where so many are desperately seeking salvation.

Please pray that the Lord will use Henok and other GCP missionaries to continue pursuing His work in the Great Commission.
