Nigeria: The Church Continues to Endure.
Nigerian Pastor Captured and beaten by Muslim Fulani Militants. He was later rescued by Nigerian army on December 4th.
In 2025, Nigerian Christians faced persecution beyond words. Entire villages have been shattered by relentless violence, and families continue to mourn loved ones taken far too soon. The loss is staggering—more than 7,000 believers killed this year alone—hundreds were kidnapped, abused, and tortured as well. Global Commission’s partnered ministry has continued to work towards accomplishing the Great Commission even in the face of extreme persecution. A key example being our work in small churches like the congregation in the village of Lugere.
Once reduced to just three members due to intense Islamic persecution—leaving believers discouraged and some even returning to Islam—the church has now experienced a remarkable renewal through the work of GC sponsored missionaries. Today, by God’s grace, 41 believers gather to worship in what was once a struggling and nearly abandoned fellowship. Pray for His powerful protection over our partnered ministry and the church, that they may continue shining the light of Christ with boldness and steadfast faith
Please pray that God can strengthen His people as they endure persecution. The ministry leader asks: “Please continue to pray for the peace and safety of our team in the midst of all the insecurity”.
