Nigeria: Increase in Attacks against Christians
Mass Burial of Bindi Village held.
On July 15th, 27 people were tragically killed by an Islamic extremist group in Bindi village, located in Plateau State, Nigeria. The residents of this farming village were predominantly Christian, which made them a direct target for the Fulani militant group. During the attack, homes, farmlands, and churches were completely destroyed. Entire families were found dead in the remains of their burned homes, leaving the community in a state of absolute devastation. Horrifically, the Fulani militants have continued their attacks across various villages in Plateau State, claiming over 70 lives in recent weeks. July has now become the deadliest month of the year so far for the region.
Dozens of Christian survivors have been displaced with nowhere to go, and most local farmlands have been abandoned or destroyed—further deepening an already severe food crisis. With the help of GCP, our partnered missionaries have been supporting these families by providing food bags. These food bags can sustain a family for over a month and serve as a powerful reminder that their faith family has not forgotten them in their time of suffering. Our missionaries are not only meeting a practical need but also encouraging each family in Christ.
Please pray for the grieving families in Bindi and surrounding villages as they endure unimaginable loss, displacement, and fear. Ask God to strengthen our missionaries as they bring both food bags and the hope of Christ to those devastated by these brutal attacks.
