Niger: Providing Spiritual and Physical Needs

Villagers receiving Food Bags from missionaries supported by GCP

As of 2024, Niger has ranked #6 among the world’s poorest countries. Located in North Africa with a population of 27 million, the country sank deeper into poverty when the military took over the government in the summer of 2023. The political climate has contributed to widespread starvation, with many families struggling to afford or even find food. Additionally, over 93% of the country practices Islam, and the very small Christian population (0.9%) continues to struggle with poverty and persecution. This is why GCP is starting a new partnership with a native ministry to meet the spiritual and physical needs of Niger. This ministry has reached the most remote villages in desperate need of help and provides them with food bags with enough supplies to feed their families. These missionaries then take time to evangelize to these families personally, pray with them, and invite them to their church gatherings. By providing a simple food bag, we pray that this would open a path for the people of Niger to witness the Love of God and open their hearts toward Him.

We praise God that our partnered ministry is working hard for the kingdom of God and reaching the most remote and unreached people in Niger. Pray that many hearts will be open toward the Lord and pray for peace and stability in the country.
