Iraq: Using Social Media as an Evangelistic Tool

GCP sponsored missionary with one of the new believers through social media!

60-year-old Aman saw a video of one of our GCP-sponsored missionaries on Facebook preaching the Gospel. Aman was so moved by the video that he brought two friends (both from different religions) to meet this missionary in person. He shared, “I read the bible 11 years ago when I was studying in England, but I decided not to pursue it when I returned to my home country, Kurdistan. Then I saw your videos and had to meet you because I had benefited greatly from watching you preaching!” Our missionary shares that the Lord is indeed using him because Aman gave his life to Christ! Shortly after, another Kurdish family also gave their lives to Christ after watching his Facebook videos!  In the past six months, 8,800 have received the Gospel through traditional evangelism and social media videos in various locations across Iraq!

Iraq is among the top twenty countries where Christians experienced the most extreme persecution this year. Online ministries like what our missionaries have continued to prove that the Lord is using technology and social media to reach the unreached in these countries despite these difficulties.

Please pray that the Lord continues to use social media as a tool to reach the unreached and advance his Kingdom!
