Wells: A Source of Life and Open Door to the Gospel

In many remote regions of Asia and Africa, access to clean water is a daily struggle. Families often rely on contaminated ponds and rivers for drinking, cooking, and bathing. These sources are frequently shared with animals and are polluted, leading to widespread waterborne illnesses such as cholera, typhoid, and diarrhea—especially among children. In some villages, the nearest source of clean water is several miles away. Women and children are often responsible for collecting water, spending hours walking in the heat with heavy containers just to meet their family’s basic needs.

Global Commission’s native missionaries are responding by building clean water wells in these communities. These wells provide safe, nearby access to water—instantly transforming daily life. These wells also open the door to the Gospel, as villagers are more open to hear the message of Jesus. They become places of hope, connection, and discipleship, as missionaries use them to share God's love in word and deed.

Please pray that every well built would not only bring life-sustaining water but also open hearts to receive the message of Salvation.
