Sewing Machines: Helping our Sisters in Christ
“Learn to do what is right! Promote justice! Give the oppressed reason to celebrate! Take up the cause of the orphan! Defend the rights of the widow.”Psalm 68:5
Many native ministries conduct vocational training for women in need of employment, especially for widows and single Christian mothers. In countries like Myanmar, India, and Pakistan, sewing is a great skill for women as it allows them to generate income for their families. Sewing machines enable them to support their families consistently, as well as their local churches. Many of these women went on to contribute to the ministries that conducted the training and gave them the sewing machine. In this way, we are helping provide work opportunities for our sisters in need while continuing to spread the Gospel!
