Bangladesh: Civil War Breaks Out

Since the beginning of the year, Bangladesh has been experiencing a major rebellion between the government’s army and an insurgent group. This group is demanding greater autonomy within the country. In response, the military has grown increasingly paranoid, suspecting local villagers of supporting the insurgents—despite the lack of any evidence. As a result, they have begun torturing civilians, jailing innocent people, confiscating property, and even stripping villagers of their right to cultivate their own land. Over 5,000 families have fled to India from their homes and resorted to hiding in the jungles. By the grace of God, our GCP orphanage in Bangladesh has been spared and continues to operate as a safe haven. It is currently sheltering and caring for 39 children, each one experiencing the love of Christ in the midst of this crisis.

Please pray for protection over the orphanage leaders and children.
