Egypt: Ministering in an Islamic Context
GCP recently received a report from one of our missionaries from Egypt. He writes: “A woman from our neighborhood was very interested in our women’s Bible course. She was eager to join the group because she heard the course was about Eisa, the name for Jesus in the Quran. She explained that she found the courses very helpful because, in Islam, they are taught that women are less than men. It’s normal to be treated as an object rather than a person and be replaced with another wife if your husband isn’t pleased with you. However, she explains that she can’t continue going to the courses because she is afraid that her family would beat her or lock her in her home. She stated that if she continues exploring Christianity, it could lead to her death. Instead of having her physically come to the group, I send photos of the pages of each lesson for her to read and delete soon after.”
Please pray for the believers of Egypt who have to go through such challenges to gather together and study God’s Word.
