Pakistan: Helping Christian Widows
Christian widows are one of the most vulnerable population in Pakistan. Most of the time, after their husbands pass away, these widows have an incredibly difficult time finding work to provide for their families. This is because in addition to having to compete for work in a male dominated country, they are frequently discriminated against, the moment their employer finds out they’re Christians. This is exactly what happened to Naseem Babi after her husband died, leaving her with no means of supporting herself and two children. “It felt like the end of the world when he died,” said Naseem.
At first, she was able to find work as a domestic servant in the home of a wealthy Muslim family, but when they discovered she was a Christian, they fired her immediately. She has not been able to find a job since. This is the situation many of these women are facing in this country. This is why GCP wants to provide these dear Christians widows with sewing machines (approximately $130 each). These sewing machines provide them with a source of income, allowing them to support themselves and their children. The Word of God says: “The worship that God wants is this: caring for orphans or widows who need help.” James 1:27. Would you consider helping these Christian widows?
Please pray that God will provide GCP with more resources to be able to provide sewing machines to the needy Christian widows in this country.
