Pakistan: No Christians are Allowed…

One of our leaders recently reported the following to us:

“With a sad and heavy heart, I want to report that another Christian has lost his life as a result of persecution that was motivated by hatred for Christians. My old friend, Nadeem Joseph, whom I knew since 1992, was attacked by his Muslim neighbor on June 2 and shot twice in the lower belly. Last night he went home during his fifth surgery since the attack. Last month, he finally found a suitable house, made partial payment, took possession and moved in with his family. Within in a week or so, his neighbor noticed that a new family had moved in. Shortly after, he stopped Nadeem in the street and asked him if he was a Muslim. Nadeem told him he was a Christian. His neighbor lost his temper immediately and began to yell at Nadeem: "How dare you move in this neighborhood? This is a Muslim neighborhood; no Christians are allowed to live here. I'm giving you a few days to pack up and move out of here.” Nadeem was the first one to be shot, followed by his mother-in-law who was shot in the arm and his brother-in-law who was shot in the ankle. Sad that this dear friend has become, yet again, another target of persecution. Please remember Nadeem's widow and his sons in your prayers."

Please pray for the children and widow of our brother Nadeem; pray that God will provide for both their economic needs as well as their emotional and spiritual needs.
