India: A New Church On an Island!

This Christmas, GCP and our partnered ministry in West Bengal reached over 100 residents across two villages on Patharpratima Island. The villages are mostly Hindu and Muslim and have no Christian church within a 50-mile radius. Additionally, the residents are extremely poor and mostly rely on farming as their main source of income. The past season has been particularly difficult for them because malaria, typhoid, and dengue fever have spiked across their region. This is why GCP-partnered missionaries distributed food bags and mosquito nets in a Christmas outreach this past December. Mosquito nets can cover a family of four and will last 4-5 years, and the food bags contain 15-20 essential food items. These items were a great blessing to the families in need who were grateful to receive them during our Christmas outreach. Due to evangelistic projects like these, our leader just reported the following:

"Since last year, our house fellowship in the region has grown in demand! A few months ago, 12 new believers from this fellowship chose to commit their lives to Christ and got baptized. Because of the continued request for Sunday church services, we decided that starting January 2024, our home fellowships will become an established church for the Island!" Praise God!

Please pray that this new missionary training center will create and send hundreds of passionate and equipped missionaries to reach the unreached of Bangladesh.
